Gov. Fashola declares Friday as a public holiday

Governor Fashola has declared Friday November 7, as holiday for all public servants in the state, so that they can collect their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) from INEC.

Distribution of the PVCs holds from Friday, 7 till Sunday, November 9. He also appealed for the private sector to close early so that members of staff can go and pick up their cards. The governor also urged eligible voters from age 18 and above, to register.
“You have to register as a voter to be eligible to vote. We must take it seriously to make sure our names are in the voters register. Go to the polling centre to collect your PVC. No business or job can be more important than to collect your PVC. Between November 7 and 9, those who want to collect the PVC, should go out and collect them”, he said.

Those who lost their temporary voter’s card or have not registered before, can do so when INEC conducts fresh registration between 12 and 17 November

How to stop Facebook automatically playing videos: Stop autoplaying videos in Facebook for Android and iOS

One of the most commonly shared type of posts, video is huge on Facebook. Video also autoplays on Facebook's mobile apps, which is irritating. Here's how to stop Facebook automatically playing video. Also see: 13 best Facebook tips and tricks
How to stop Facebook videos automatically playing: Android app
Step 1. Open the Facebook Android app and open the Settings menu. To do this, tap the icon with three horizontal lines toward the top right of your News Feed (not the icon with three horizontal lines and a silhouette; this opens Facebook Chat). Like PC Advisor on Facebook.

Step 2. Once in the Settings menu you'll be able to see a link to your profile page, friends, events, photos, pages you manage and more.

Step 3. Scroll down to the Help & Settings section and choose the top entry: App Settings.

Step 4. Under General settings look for and select Video Auto-play.

Step 5. Video Auto-play offers three options: On, Wi-fi only and off. Choose Off if you don't want video to ever autoplay on Facebook; choose Wi-fi only if you don't like video autoplaying because you're worried about going over your tariff's data allowance.

How to stop Facebook videos automatically playing: iOS app for iPhone and iPad
The same Video Auto-play menu is found in iOS as it is in Android, except you'll find it in a different place. Rather than looking for a Settings menu within the Facebook app you should open your iPad or iPhone's Settings menu and then scroll down to and select Facebook. Now choose Settings and, under Video, select Auto-play. You'll find the same three options: On, Wi-fi only and Off. How to restart your browser without losing your open tabs

Sometimes your browser crashes or you need to restart it, but you don't want to lose the pages you've got open. Here's how to restart Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer without losing your open tabs. Also see: What's the best browser for Windows?
A reader wrote in to PC Advisor to ask: How can I restart my browser with all my current pages and tabs open?
Here's how we solved their problem:
How to restart Chrome without losing your open tabs
To restart Google Chrome without losing your open tabs just type chrome://restart into the address bar and press Enter. However, do not do this if you have Chrome set up to restore a previous session upon restart, otherwise you may find the browser attempts to reload a tab containing ‘chrome://restart’, putting you in an infinite loop of restarting.
If this happens, try editing the Chrome shortcut and adding --disable-restore-session-state to the target entry. Also see:Top 10 Google Chrome tips and tricks
How to restart Firefox without losing your open tabs
To restart Firefox without losing your open tabs press Shift-F2 and then type restart into the console window before pressing Enter.
How to restart Internet Explorer without losing your open tabs
To restart Internet Explorer without losing your open tabs, close the application and relaunch it, then select Tools > Reopen previous browsing session. Unfortunately, this will restore the tabs on your last Internet Explorer window, but it won’t reopen multiple windows if you had them open.
